Als excellente midranger in de nieuwe serie HP700, gebaseerd op de LX700 technoligie, beschikt hij over de betere piano kenmerken : nieuwe PHA-50 klavier met houten toetsen, geruisloos en precies, met "escapement" nabootsing (zoals in een echte piano), SuperNATURAL sounds en acoustic projection.

Deze HP704 heeft een sterk verbetere versterking vergeleen met de HP702 en kan éen van de hoofdreden zijn om een upgrade te verkiezen naar één van deze hogere modellen.
